Warm-Up for NBA Players

Warm-up and stretching, the strength coaches emphasize, help cut down on injuries. And a hamstring stretch, according to former LA NBA strength and conditioning coach Marco Nuñez, can even make you a better player.

He tracks his players by videotaping them on the treadmill to see changes in their gait and walk.

The hamstring stretch specifically helps with explosiveness — and jumping. “Everyone wants to get those strong and explosive but the key is when you get as high as you can in the air you still have to land,”.
